Job summary

Knavesmire Primary School is seeking a proactive Teaching Assistant to support some of our most vulnerable pupils. The role includes small-group intervention work, 1:1 support, and collaboration with our School House SEN provision.

You will work alongside class teachers and the SENCo to help pupils access an ambitious curriculum and achieve personal targets. The successful candidate will be calm, caring and committed to high standards.

Qualifications

• GCSE maths and English at grade C/4 or above.
• Experience of working with children or young people, ideally including SEND.
• Calm, caring and consistent in approach and able to work with others.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for some of our most vulnerable pupils.
• Deliver small-group intervention work and 1:1 support.
• Collaborate with class teachers and the school SENCo to enable access to a demanding curriculum.
• Support the School House SEN provision as needed.

Job description

Knavesmire Primary School is looking for a positive and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work within our team to provide support for some of our most vulnerable pupils. The role will involve some small group intervention work, some 1:1 support for pupils and some work within our School House SEN provision.

You will have GCSE qualifications in maths and English at a grade C/4 or above, or equivalent, and will have experience of working with children or young people, and ideally some previous experience of working with children with SEND. You will have the skills to work alongside class teachers and our school SENCo to ensure that children are able to access an ambitious curriculum and make positive progress against their own personal targets.
