Job summary

Choice Teachers are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work within secondary schools in Wakefield. The role requires SEN experience, a caring and patient approach, and the ability to support pupils both one-to-one and in small groups.

Are you a caring, patient and dedicated Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?

Choice Teachers are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work within a SECONDARY schools in Wakefield. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children and helping them reach their full potential.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
  • Provide tailored support to children with a range of SEN needs.
  • Assist with learning, development and emotional wellbeing.
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff.
  • Help create a positive, inclusive and nurturing classroom environment.
  • Encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence and positive behaviour.
  • Support the implementation of individual education and development plans.

  • Has previous experience working with children with SEN.
  • Is patient, empathetic and approachable.
  • Can build strong and positive relationships with pupils.
  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
