Job summary

Chipstead Valley Primary School in Coulsdon is seeking a Teaching Assistant to provide targeted 1:1 or small-group support for children with additional learning needs, promoting inclusion and high learning standards.

The fixed-term contract runs until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of review for the following year. You will work alongside experienced teachers to create stimulating activities and supportive learning environments.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above.
• Experience of working with children with SEND, preferably in Key Stage 2.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team; good communication.

This role is varied, and we are looking for an adaptable, flexible and resourceful individual able to cope in a high-pressure environment and deal with constantly changing priorities. You will be working as part of an energetic and busy team to provide additional classroom based and Learning and behavioural support to individual or small groups of children with additional learning needs. Experience of working with children in this capacity, as well as a caring and nurturing nature is essential.As a Teaching Assistant, you will have the ability to relate well to children of all ages, promoting excellent behaviour standards and encouraging independence.You will be passionate about inclusion and will have the ability to inspire our children to have a love for learning whilst striving to be 'the best they can be'. You will have the opportunity to work alongside outstanding teachers, to observe and share best practice on a regular basis to further develop a career.This position would suit an already experienced TA who has a passion for SEND and may already be working with children on this basis.
