Teaching Assistant (SEMH Support)
Location: Leicestershire (LE12)
Salary: 95 - 100 per day (PAYE)
Contract: Full-time Long-term to permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Start Date: September 2025 (Interviews taking place ASAP)

A welcoming specialist school in Leicestershire (LE12) is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join their team this September.

About the School

The school supports a small cohort of pupils aged 4-13 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. With a calm, structured environment and class sizes kept small, students benefit from a highly personalised approach to learning.

Facilities include a MUGA sports area, science and art rooms, a music studio, calm and sensory spaces, and outdoor learning provision.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups, helping them stay focused and engaged
  • Assist with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
  • Work across academic, creative and outdoor learning sessions
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to deliver tailored support
  • Contribute to a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment

What We're Looking For

  • Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs (SEMH, SEN, or behavioural challenges)
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach
  • Good communication skills and a team-first attitude
  • Backgrounds in education, youth work, residential care or support work are welcome

Note: You do not need prior SEMH experience - if you're calm, consistent, and committed, training and support will be provided.
