Join Our Team as a Dedicated Teaching Assistant.

Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual looking to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people? We are seeking a Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team. We provide specialised educational support for students with complex needs, many of whom have experienced significant trauma, helping them to heal, learn, and successfully transition back into mainstream education or other suitable placements.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Teaching Assistant, you'll play a crucial part in creating a positive and engaging learning environment for our students. You'll work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored assistance, helping students achieve their educational goals.

Key Activities Include:

  • Assisting teachers with classroom management and instruction.
  • Providing individual and small group support to students.
  • Implementing behaviour support plans effectively.
  • Participating actively in team meetings and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintaining accurate records of student progress.
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with students and their families.
What We're Looking For

We're seeking individuals who are passionate about supporting young people and possess the following:

Experience:

  • Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is highly desirable, especially those with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
  • Experience in a trauma-informed setting is a significant advantage, but not essential.
  • A demonstrable ability to build rapport with students and work effectively as part of a team is essential.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience and empathy.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • A good understanding of child development and learning.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience) are preferred, but not mandatory. We value experience and commitment above all else.
