Teaching Assistant – Poulton-Le-Fylde

Prospero Teaching is looking for an experienced teaching assistant to join a popular secondary school in Poulton-Le-Fylde.

This role is for a teaching assistant experienced in working with students aged 11–16. Responsibilities include supporting staff and students, providing special needs support, and exam invigilation. The successful candidate will work across resource provisions, liaising with staff, parents, and supporting children.

This position is ideal for recent graduates or those with teaching assistant experience seeking classroom experience before pursuing a PGCE in September 2025 or 2026. You will work with small groups to provide intervention support and assist in maintaining a calm, consistent learning environment.

CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS:

• Position – Teaching Assistant
• Contract type – Temporary
• Full time
• Minimum rate of pay – £90 P/D

Experience, Training, and Qualifications:

• Secondary school experience or evidence of working with children
• GCSE English and Maths grade C or 4 & above
• Up-to-date safeguarding training issued in the last year (training can be provided)
• Up-to-date Prevent training issued in the last 3 years (training can be provided)
• Up-to-date behaviour management & FGM training (training can be provided)

Eligibility Requirements:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide a minimum of two references covering the last 2 years
