Hays Education is working with a range of primary and secondary schools across Somerset, including areas such as Frome, Wells, Shepton Mallet, and Glastonbury, to recruit
Teaching Assistants for the new academic year starting in September 2025. Whether you're looking for day-to-day supply, a long-term placement, or a fixed-term contract, we have roles to suit your availability and experience.
Your new role
As a Teaching Assistant, you'll support pupils in the classroom, work closely with teachers to deliver engaging lessons and provide one-on-one or small group support. Roles may include:

  • SEN support (1:1 or small groups)
  • Behaviour support for early years, KS1, or KS2 assistance


What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience working with children (in schools or other settings)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A valid DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
