Job summary

assr in Old Heathfield is seeking two energetic Teaching Assistants to support learning across age groups in a Church of England primary setting. The roles are fixed-term until 22 July 2027, with duties spanning classroom support, small-group sessions and individualised assistance to meet diverse needs.

The ideal candidates will be enthusiastic, adaptable and committed to safeguarding, with strong literacy and numeracy skills and the ability to work well in a team.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a school, early years or similar setting.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and wellbeing of every child.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Support children’s learning in class, in small groups, or one-to-one to meet individual needs.
• Deliver planned learning activities, reinforce teaching points and keep children engaged.
• Work across key stages and support children Outside class expectations as needed.
• Contribute to planning and preparation of inclusive learning resources.
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing, modelling respectful relationships.
• Collaborate with teachers, SEN staff and external professionals to support pupils with additional needs.
• Support the wider life of the school, including playground duties and enrichment activities.
