Job summary

Discovery Primary Academy is looking to appoint a General Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic, friendly and supportive team. You will support children across the academy, working closely with the SENCo, class teachers and other support staff to help learners achieve their potential.

The role involves working in classrooms with children in small groups or one-to-one, and may include personal care responsibilities. A good standard of written and spoken English and Maths is required.

Qualifications

• Good written and spoken English and Maths skills.
• Empathetic, adaptable and able to work under pressure.
• Able to support children in classrooms and in small groups/1:1.

Responsibilities

• Support children in classrooms and learning activities.
• Work with SENCo, Class Teachers and support staff.
• Assist in small group work or 1:1 support to understand lessons.
• Provide personal care for some children as required.
