Job summary

Streetly Academy is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic teaching assistant to support students primarily in Maths and English. This position is a new role aimed at enhancing student engagement and success. The Academy offers a supportive work environment that includes professional development opportunities, well-being resources, and a commitment to safeguarding. This is an initial 12-month contract with the possibility of becoming permanent based on performance.

Job description

We are looking for;

●A qualified and enthusiastic team player to work under the direction of the SENDCo to access learning and to assist the class teacher in the management of specific students with a primary focus on Maths and English interventions, alongside cognitive barriers.

●An individual who is committed to delivering active and engaging learning, which enthuses young people and motivates them to want to succeed

●An individual who can set targets that stretch and challenge students of all backgrounds, abilities and dispositions

●Empathy and integrity with a genuine passion for supporting young people with adversities.

●An individual with confident communication skills to work with and alongside other paraprofessionals, parents and carers.

●An individual with a continued commitment to their own professional development.

●An individual with competent ICT skills.

This is a brand new role / initiative and as such the position is subject to an initial 12 month contract. Should the role prove successful it will be made permanent. Alternatively, should the role not deliver on the outcomes we are seeking there will be opportunity to move into a more generic Teaching Assistance post within the department (subject to successfully passing probation).
