Job description

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant (TA) with Makaton training to support a deaf child in Reception, based in Nottingham (NG12). This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a young child's education, ensuring they have full access to learning and communication. This is a part time opportunity working mornings only, but would consider full time as well.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 support to a deaf child in Reception
Use Makaton and other communication strategies to aid learning
Assist in classroom activities, ensuring an inclusive environment
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual learning plans
Foster a nurturing and engaging learning experience

Requirements:
️ Experience working with children in an educational setting
️ Makaton training (essential)
️ Understanding of deaf awareness and communication strategies
️ Patient, caring, and adaptable approach
️ Ability to work as part of a team and follow individual support plans

Desirable:
BSL (British Sign Language) knowledge
Previous experience in Early Years / SEN support
