Job description

Inspirational Teaching Assistants Required

We are seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants for this very special school. Are you adaptable and capable of bringing out the best in pupils aged 2 – 19 with severe, profound, or complex needs?

Due to an increase in pupil numbers, we are looking to add to our 'Outstanding' school team. We value drive, enthusiasm, and potential. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career within a friendly, professional, and forward-looking environment.

The working hours are 8.30-3.30 or 9.30-2.30 during term time, Monday to Friday. You may be required to work at any of our sites.

As a large special school, we have a history of promoting our TAs to Senior TAs and HLTAs. For those with a degree or working towards one, there is a clear career path to become a teacher.

In addition to salary, SEN allowance, and pension benefits, we offer excellent staff benefits including:

  • Confidential staff counselling service
  • A wellbeing app and platform
  • Staff social and well-being events
  • Annual flu vaccinations

While the advert has a close date, applications may be shortlisted and interviews held sooner.

Successful candidates may be experienced TAs who enjoy teamwork and responsibility, or individuals with experience in special needs or child-based environments. Alternatively, those passionate about special needs seeking their first opportunity are encouraged to apply. We support professional development and career progression, valuing staff in all aspects of school life. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to inclusive principles and safeguarding children and young people.

TA positions are based within a class team but may require covering other classes as needed.

We hold an annual music festival for our pupils, providing opportunities for experiences they might not otherwise access. You can see it here:
