Job summary

The City Academy Hackney is seeking a Literacy Teaching Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs, under faculty staff and teachers, helping them access the curriculum in classes, groups or one-to-one. The role is full-time, term-time only, 39 weeks a year, with optional paid weekend tutoring and studies sessions.

You will work to build confidence, promote self-esteem, and motivate learning while adhering to safeguarding guidelines.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent required.
• Fluent spoken English expected.
• Willingness to undergo safeguarding checks.

The role supports pupils with special educational needs, working under faculty staff and teachers to help them access the curriculum in classes, groups or one-to-one. The job is full-time and term time only, 39 weeks a year, with optional paid weekend tutoring and studies sessions. Fluent spoken English and a degree or equivalent are required, and visa sponsorship is not available.
