Job description

Corpus Christi Catholic Academy Trust wishes to appoint a Teaching Assistant Level 4 at St Mary's Catholic Primary School in Dukinfield, Tameside. This role will be a full-time position for 35 hours per week during term time only, over 39 weeks a year, on a fixed-term basis initially until 31st August 2026, with the possibility of extension.

The role:
  • To work with groups of pupils under the supervision of the teacher, including delivering programmes of work and implementing ILPs
  • Assist the teacher to ensure a safe classroom and outdoor environment
  • Prepare the classroom for lessons, including display work and clearing afterwards
  • Supervise groups and occasionally whole classes in the classroom or outside as required
  • Support class teachers in delivering high-quality lessons
The successful candidate will:
  • Have relevant experience in EYFS and KS1, especially in teaching and learning of early reading and phonics
  • Ideally have whole-class PPA cover experience
  • Have strong moral and ethical principles and values
  • Be adaptable and respond appropriately to challenging situations
  • Be open to new ideas, committed to teamwork, and have a good sense of humour
  • Act with the utmost integrity at all times
