Salary: Grade 3 SCP 5 - 6 £24,790 - £25,183 (Pro rata)

1 YEAR FIXED-TERM CONTRACT

The Headteacher, children, staff, and Governing Body of Tredegar Park Primary School are seeking enthusiastic, dedicated, and inspirational Teaching Assistants (Level 2) to join from September 2025. We are recruiting for positions across the entire school, including supporting whole classes and small groups with Additional Learning Needs.

Our Teaching Assistants are vital to the life of Tredegar Park Primary School. We seek individuals who:

  • Can develop excellent relationships with pupils, staff, governors, and parents/carers.
  • Are committed to the social, emotional, and mental wellbeing of pupils.
  • Hold high expectations for all pupils and are dedicated to helping them reach their full potential.
  • Are positive, respectful, and reflective about their practice to improve professionally.

We have roles available for:

  • Teaching Assistants in the Early Years setting.
  • Supporting small groups of pupils with physical, medical, social, emotional, and behavioural needs both inside and outside the classroom.

We are especially interested in applicants who have:

  • Experience working in a school supporting teachers with various tasks.
  • Experience supporting pupils one-to-one or in small groups to improve their wellbeing and learning.
  • Skills in strategies supporting pupils with social and communication needs.
  • Ability to manage behaviour positively and respectfully.
  • Experience working with external agencies to support pupils.
  • Recent training or willingness to attend training for supporting pupils with medical and physical needs.

The Governing Body and Local Authority prioritize safeguarding and expect all staff to share this commitment. This position requires an enhanced DBS check and registration with the EWC. A Teaching Assistant qualification is also required. Holidays should be taken during school closure periods.

The selection process includes a lesson observation and interview with the Headteacher and Governing Body.
