St Michael’s CE Primary School

Leigh Road, Howe Bridge, Atherton, M46 0PA

Hours: 15 hours 50 minutes per week, term time plus 1 week working 39 weeks per year

Temporary until August 2026, starting September 2025

The Governors wish to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated Level 2 Teaching Assistant. Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the needs of SEN pupils
  • Working closely with staff, parents, and outside agencies
  • Catering to individual needs of children and using initiative as situations arise
  • Following individual Care Plans
  • Establishing good relationships and team working with the school community
  • Providing support for the class teacher and pupils
  • Listening to and responding to advice from professionals outside the setting
  • Maintaining records and observations
  • Providing feedback to the SENDCO, class teacher, and parents
  • Building supportive relationships with parents with an honest and open approach

Applicants should demonstrate understanding of working with children requiring support for various SEN needs.
