Level 2 Teaching Assistant

Job description

About Our School and Windsor Academy Trust

Welcome to our dedicated school team. We are a dynamic and inclusive community of professionals who play a crucial role in the daily success of our educational environment. Our staff are deeply committed to providing the operational excellence required to support our teachers and students, ensuring our school is a safe, welcoming, and highly effective place to learn and work.

We are incredibly proud to be part of the Windsor Academy Trust family. Working within the Trust means you benefit from shared expertise, wider opportunities, and a powerful network of support. This collective power allows us to focus relentlessly on our shared moral purpose: unlocking the academic and personal potential of every child, while ensuring our staff thrive.

About the Role

As a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, working under the direction and guidance of the class teacher, you will support teaching and learning activities in the classroom. You will work with individuals or small groups of students, taking responsibility for some learning activities within the overall teaching plan to support the academy in line with the overarching vision and values of Windsor Academy Trust.

Your daily impact will include:
  • Student Support and Inclusion: Working with individuals or small groups of students, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) or English as an Additional Language (EAL). You will implement planned learning activities, support students working within the inclusion base, and assist with eating, dressing, and hygiene as required.

  • Teacher and Classroom Support: Assisting the class teacher in the planning, evaluation, and delivery of learning activities. You will arrange resources, prepare and clear away classroom materials, develop displays, administer routine tests, and invigilate exams.

  • Behaviour and Progress Monitoring: Supporting students with behavioural, emotional, and social development needs, promoting good student behaviour, and dealing promptly with conflict. You will monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to both the students and the class teacher, and sharing information with parents and external agencies.

  • Safeguarding and Professional Ethos: Displaying sensitivity to students and their individual needs, maintaining high levels of confidentiality, and contributing to the overall culture of the Trust. You must fully comply with all policies relating to child protection and uphold the Trust's absolute commitment to the safeguarding of children.

About You

We are looking for a highly organised and collaborative professional who:

  • Possesses strong operational, administrative, or technical expertise relevant to the school environment.

  • Thrives in an agile team and is always looking for ways to improve school systems and efficiencies.

  • Deeply understands that every role, whether in an office or a classroom, plays a vital part in unlocking student potential.
