Hampton Gardens School is currently recruiting for two combined Teaching Assistant (Level 1) and Midday Supervisor roles—one full-time and one part-time (3 days per week). These roles offer the opportunity to support students both in the classroom and during lunchtime, contributing to their academic progress and wellbeing throughout the school day.

As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with teachers and the SENDCo to support students with their learning, including those with additional needs. You’ll help create an inclusive and engaging classroom environment, assist with behaviour management, and contribute to student progress tracking.

As a Midday Supervisor, you’ll help ensure a safe, orderly, and positive lunchtime experience for students, supporting behaviour expectations and promoting respectful interactions.

This is a rewarding role for someone who is patient, adaptable, and passionate about supporting young people.

What You’ll Be DoingTeaching Assistant duties:
  • Supporting individual pupils and small groups with learning tasks.
  • Assisting students with SEND and/or English as an additional language.
  • Supporting literacy, numeracy, and ICT activities.
  • Contributing to behaviour management and classroom organisation.
  • Maintaining records and providing feedback to teachers and the SENDCo.
  • Participating in staff meetings, training, and school events.
Midday Supervisor duties:
  • Supervising students during the lunch period in line with school procedures.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and reporting concerns.
  • Maintaining a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Building positive relationships with students and staff.
What We’re Looking For:

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in working with young people, ideally in a school setting.
  • Patient, empathetic, and confident in managing behaviour.
  • Organised, adaptable, and able to use their initiative.
  • A strong communicator with good ICT skills.
  • Committed to safeguarding and confidentiality.
  • Willing to undertake relevant training, including First Aid if required.
  • Positive, flexible, and enthusiastic about supporting students.
Working Hours & SalaryTeaching Assistant (Grade 4 - £24,795 to £25,583)
  • Hours: 8.30am - 3.10pm (25-minute unpaid lunch break)
  • Full-time: 27.5 hours/week, term time plus 5 days
  • Actual salary: £15,780 - £16,282 (based on 39 weeks)
  • Part-time (3 days/week, 16.5 hours): £9,468 - £9,769
Midday Supervisor (Grade 5 - £25,583 to £26,402)
  • Hours: 1.25pm - 2.10pm
  • Full-time: 3.75 hours/week, term time only
  • Actual salary: £2,163 - £2,232 (based on 38 weeks)
  • Part-time (3 days/week, 2.25 hours): £1,298 - £1,339
Combined Total Actual Salary
  • Full-time (5 days/week, 31.25 hours): £17,943 - £18,514
  • Part-time (3 days/week, 18.75 hours): £10,766 - £11,108
