Contract: Temporary - Two terms to end of August 2024 with possibility of extension.

We are seeking to appoint an excellent, dedicated, hardworking teaching assistant with the initiative and drive to work as part of our forward school team. The role involves working across all areas within a primary school. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of classroom responsibilities, experience working with children, and awareness of child protection policies. The successful applicant will demonstrate high-level educational support, nurturing skills, positive management skills, and effective communication with staff and parents/carers. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team is essential.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

This post requires registration with the EWC - Education Workforce Council.

Qualifications / Experience:

Essential:

  • Very good numeracy/literacy skills.
  • Experience of working with children of relevant age.
  • Effective use of ICT to support learning.
  • Knowledge of relevant policies, codes of practice, and legislation.
  • Understanding of the national/foundation phase, curriculum 14–19 pathways, and other basic learning strategies.

Desirable:

  • Training in strategies to support learning, e.g., literacy, hearing, sign language, dyslexia, ICT, Maths, and English.
  • First aid training.
