Teaching Assistant

Hours: Full-Time, Permanent, (37.5 hours per week, Mon - Fri 8:30am - 4:30pm)

Location: Telford

Salary: NMW - £24,000 per annum, pro rata (depending on experience, skills & qualifications)

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Teaching Assistant based in our Telford centre.

Nova Training is one of the UK’s most popular and experienced training providers, operating for over 30 years in Study Programmes and Apprenticeships. We operate across 13 locations in the West Midlands and East of England, delivering programs including 16-18 study programmes, pre-apprenticeships, provision for learners with high needs, apprenticeships, and 14-16 alternative provision. Rated as Good by Ofsted in all areas, we offer a variety of educational options to young people.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will have a passion for working with students with special educational needs and will be committed to ensuring all students have access to high-quality education and support. You will work closely with tutors to assist in classroom activities and outdoor trips.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in preparing and delivering lessons and interventions.
  • Provide daily reports on learners’ progress and barriers to learning.
  • Interact regularly with parents and caregivers.
  • Assist in managing behavioral difficulties.
  • Motivate, challenge, and inspire students to achieve their best.
  • Contribute to our core vision and values.
  • Work independently and as part of a cohesive team.
  • Maintain strong subject knowledge in English and Maths.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience as a Teaching Assistant in an educational setting.
  • Relevant qualification/training in Special Education.
  • Experience working with learners with an EHCP (beneficial).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Vision, innovation, and passion for teaching and learning.
  • Ability to support planning and assessment creatively and proactively.

Full, clean UK Driving License
