Learning & Behaviour Mentor - East London

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with additional learning needs and mental health disorders?

Do you have experience working with young people who are unable to attend mainstream school and have backgrounds in mental health or behavioral challenges?

Would you like to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people while developing your career in SEND/SEMH?

About the role

We are seeking engaging and passionate Behaviour Mentors for a school in East London that educates children with complex mental health disorders and other learning needs. We welcome applications from professionals and volunteers with experience working with complex mental health needs and SEND. Even if your experience is informal, we want to hear from you!

Children's needs

The children you will support may have significant, complex, and co-morbid SEMH and behavioral difficulties.

Behaviour Mentor requirements

1. Experience working with young people with behavioral issues, ADHD, sensory processing difficulties, and learning difficulties.
2. Experience with SEMH, trauma, sensory processing, and social communication.
3. Youth mentor/worker experience.
4. Ability to build strong, meaningful relationships.
5. A genuine passion for working with SEND is essential.

What you can expect as a Behaviour Mentor

1. Salary of £120-£130 per day, depending on experience.
2. Excellent training and experience for aspiring teachers, pastoral workers, child psychologists, educational psychologists, clinical psychologists, occupational therapists, counselors, and social workers.
