Job summary

Wayman Education is working with an Independent School in Kingston upon Thames to recruit a caring, enthusiastic Teaching Assistant. The successful candidate will join a collaborative teaching and support team and help pupils engage confidently with their learning.

The role involves supporting pupils during lessons, assisting with resources and learning activities, and fostering positive behaviour and confidence.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within a school or educational environment.
• Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Classroom Assistant or similar would be advantageous.
• The successful applicant should be patient, approachable and confident when working with pupils of different abilities and backgrounds.
• A positive attitude, reliability and willingness to learn are important.
• An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures is essential. Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND would also be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with classroom activities and lesson support.
• Support pupils during lessons, helping with instructions and activities.
• Prepare and organise classroom resources and learning activities.
• Support pupil supervision during break and school events.
• Communicate observations about pupil progress with teachers.
