Our client are hiring an experienced and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with social skills challenges. This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about Special Educational Needs (SEN) and child development, with a strong interest in building life skills and educational progress.
This is a rewarding full time, term time only role where you can build on your skills and experience, delivering exceptional support while making an impact on this child’s ability to reach their full potential. This child will be in Year 5 in September and move on to Senior School at the end of Year 8.
Whilst this is a full-time position, suiting one adult, they would also consider splitting the role between two part-time candidates.
Role Overview:
As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll:
• Support a Year 5 pupil in their classes and sometimes one to one.
• Assist with their learning and engagement in lessons.
• Carry out intervention work, focussed on emotional literacy, social skills and communication.
• Encourage positive social behaviour through patient, clear guidance.
• Become part of a supportive team of TAs and teachers.
• To work with subject teachers in providing a positive and effective working environment for the child.
• To run 1:1 or small group interventions with the child.

• Experience working with children with SEN
• Calm, adaptable, and emotionally resilient
• Ability to offer patient and consistent support
• Comfortable with KS2 Primary content
• Passionate about supporting neurodiverse learners
Hours and Benefits
• This role is full time, working Monday to Friday, term time only (34 weeks per year).

Application Process
The selection process will involve:
• Supporting an observed lesson. The topic and work materials will be provided in advance
• Interviews with the Headmaster and a member of the Senior Management Team
• Tour of the School
• Lunch with the pupils
• The opportunity to meet other members of the staff team
