Overview

Teaching Assistant - Great Barr. Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant based in Great Barr with experience in teaching phonics and interventions?

I am currently recruiting for a school based in Great Barr who is seeking an experienced TA with knowledge of the KS1 curriculum. The post is to start as soon as possible and will finish in July 2026 with potential to stay for the next academic year if the school feel you are the correct fit.

The successful TA will be nurturing, patient and will genuinely want to make a difference.

Responsibilities
  • Focus on teaching Phonics and providing interventions for pupils who require extra support.
  • Support the class teacher in helping track pupils' learning and guide those who need support.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant (TA) with knowledge of the KS1 curriculum.
  • Experience in teaching phonics and delivering targeted interventions is essential and beneficial.
School Environment

This school is a small, supportive environment with two classes per year. The team aims to build pupils’ positive self-esteem and provide the skills needed for lifelong learning.

Remuneration and Duration

Contract start as soon as possible; ends July 2026 with potential to extend to the next academic year.
