Teaching Assistant (Generic) Level 2 (Ysgol Calon Cymru)

Salary: Grade 4, Point 5 to Point 6, £24,790 to £25,183 per annum pro rata, £12.84 to £13.05 per hour

Position: Teaching Assistant (Generic) Level 2

Location: Ysgol Calon Cymru

Hours: 7.5 hours per week / 39 weeks per year

Contract: Fixed-term until 17.07.2026

We seek a highly motivated Teaching Assistant to make a positive impact on our students' education and learning experiences. The ideal candidate will be:

  1. Experienced in working with pupils with additional learning needs such as ASD, ADHD, and General Learning Difficulties.
  2. Possessing high expectations for both learning and behaviour.
  3. Capable of supporting multiple year groups and delivering differentiated learning opportunities.
  4. Skilled in using multisensory and practical approaches to reinforce concepts.
  5. Motivational, able to encourage pupils to excel with appropriate praise and support.
  6. Able to follow instructions and use initiative when working with pupils.
  7. Knowledgeable about nurture and behaviour support strategies.
  8. Effective in communicating with parents, carers, colleagues, and pupils.
  9. Demonstrates good oral and written communication skills.
  10. Collaborative in working with pupils, staff, and external agencies.
  11. Supportive in facilitating extra-curricular activities.
  12. Positive, enthusiastic, hardworking, flexible, and contributive to school life.
  13. Patience, empathy, nurturing, with a good sense of humour.
  14. Reflective practitioners capable of adapting approaches for different learners.
