Our welcoming and inclusive primary school in Garston, Liverpool, is committed to providing a supportive and enriching learning environment for all students. We believe in the potential of every child and strive to ensure they receive the individualised attention they need to succeed. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team and provide tailored support to primary-aged pupils.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with a specific student, providing personalised support to meet their educational needs.
  • Implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and adapting learning activities as necessary.
  • Assisting the student with classroom tasks and helping them stay focused and engaged.
  • Supporting the student's social and emotional development.
  • Collaborating with the class teacher and special educational needs coordinator (SENCO) to monitor and report on the student's progress.
  • Facilitating a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Encouraging the student's independence and self-confidence.

Qualifications and Skills: The ideal Teaching Assistant will possess:

  • A relevant qualification in education or childcare (e.g., CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3, or equivalent).
  • Previous experience working with children, particularly in a 1:1 support role.
  • A patient, compassionate, and nurturing approach to working with children.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A proactive and flexible attitude.
  • A commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to undertake a new one.
