Teaching Assistant (Full-Time - Permanent & Fixed Term Opportunities Available)
Location: Torton, Kidderminster
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent and 12-month Fixed Term Contract available (Term Time Only)
Hours: Full time - 40 hours per week
Hourly Rate: £12.37 - £13.49 per hour
Annual Salary: £22,102.72 - £24,103.93 actual salary

We are currently recruiting for Teaching Assistants to join a specialist independent day school located in Torton, Kidderminster. Both permanent and fixed-term roles are available, offering an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students with additional needs.

About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play an essential role in supporting students aged 6 to 19 with a range of moderate to severe learning difficulties (MLD/SLD), including autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, and other associated challenges. You will be part of a specialist team dedicated to providing tailored support in a safe and structured environment. Many of the students also have complex medical needs and sensory or physical impairments, requiring a sensitive, adaptable, and individualised approach.

This role is ideal for individuals who are resilient, caring, and committed to helping young people overcome barriers to learning and thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.

  • Experience working with children or young adults with special educational needs (desirable)

  • A flexible and proactive attitude to classroom support

  • Willingness to learn and develop professionally

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are advantageous but not essential
