Leigh Academy Snowfields is an 11-18 special school for students with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and an Education, Health and Care Plan. We opened in Bearsted in September 2020 and extended to Cranbrook in September 2022. We are seeking a passionate, dedicated Teaching Assistant who cares about supporting young people with learning difficulties and helping them reach their full potential. This is more than a job—it's an opportunity to inspire, support, and empower students every day.

About the role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work with students with ASD to support their learning, well-being, and personal development within a collaborative team. You will contribute to a personalised approach for each student to support their transition into the Academy and through their next steps after school.

Responsibilities
  • Support students with learning needs to access curriculum opportunities and achieve their targets
  • Contribute to a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, families, and other professionals
  • Assist with personal development, behaviour for learning, and wellbeing strategies
  • Support transitions from starting points into the Academy and liaise with partner providers as required
