Teaching Assistant (Forest School and eLSA focus) - Booker Hill School

Location: High Wycombe

Salary Type: Bucks pay

Salary details: Bucks Pay Range 2 (FTE £25,625 – £27,770 pro-rata) depending on experience

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: 35.5 hours. 3 days a week: 8.30am to 4.30pm (30-minute lunch break)
2 days a week: 8.30am to 3.30pm (30-minute lunch break)
(Hours negotiable for the right candidate)

Interviews to be held: Upon receipt of suitable applications

Required September 2025 (but sooner for the right candidate)

About the role

Are you passionate about children’s well-being and love the outdoors?
We’re looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team, with a special focus on emotional well-being and nurturing support.

In this unique role, you’ll help deliver our Forest School programme (full training provided if needed), support pupils’ social and emotional development as a trainee or qualified eLSA, and run targeted 1:1 and small group sessions for children with SEMH needs. You’ll also play a key role in supporting families by working closely with Bucks Adult Learning, and support with increasing school attendance for identified children and families. You will also lead three fun, inclusive after-school clubs each week, catering to a range of ages and interests.

We are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic and friendly teaching assistant who will work harmoniously with our small team here. The staff here are very supportive of each other and we are looking for a like-minded Teaching Assistant to join our friendly team.

• Be calm and nurturing and able to make a dedicated contribution to sensitively supporting the needs for all children.
• Be passionate about outdoor learning and the benefits that this can bring.
• Committed to providing high quality learning experiences for children.
• Be flexible and able to work well within a team.
• Have experience of working with children from a range of different backgrounds
• Highly efficient and organised.
