Job summary

Gidea Park Primary School in Essex is seeking a teaching assistant for term-time only to support pupils with SEND, including 1:1 or 2:1 supervision. The role requires teamwork, inclusive practice, and the willingness to provide intimate care if needed.

Experience with Read Write Inc is advantageous. The successful candidate will work with children aged 4–11 years and uphold high behavioural standards within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SEND, including non-verbal children.
• Confident in working with primary-age children (4–11 yrs).
• Willing to provide intimate care if needed.
• Hold at least NVQ2 or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 or 2:1 support for pupils as needed.
• Work as part of a team to support children with specific needs.
• Contribute to high behaviour expectations and inclusive practice.
• Engage with pupils, staff and parents with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Be versatile, flexible and committed to professional development.
