Teaching Assistant for a Named Pupil / 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - SN11

Are you ready to make a real difference in a child’s life? My client is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a named pupil at a vibrant and inclusive primary school. In this fulfilling role, you’ll have the chance to provide essential support, foster independence, and help a child overcome challenges while thriving in a nurturing environment. This role is available on a named pupil contract working on a full-time basis, looking to start ASAP!

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support for a named pupil with severe and complex physical disabilities.
  • Assist in developing the pupil’s literacy, numeracy, communication, and social skills.
  • Undertake physical care tasks such as feeding, dressing, lifting, and adjusting medical appliances.
  • Promote independence and self-esteem while helping the pupil overcome emotional barriers to learning.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to implement individualized support plans.

  • Be able to do the job as described.
  • Patient, nurturing, and adaptable, with a “firm but fair” approach.
  • Comfortable with physical care tasks and willing to undergo training.
  • Skilled in building positive relationships with staff, pupils, and parents.
  • Committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
