Job description

A well-regarded primary school in the Waterlooville area is currently seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join their team from September 2025, working within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

The school is committed to nurturing the whole child and creating an inclusive learning environment where high expectations and support go hand in hand. This role will involve working with small groups and providing 1:1 support for social and emotional needs within the EYFS setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support learning in EYFS through group work and 1:1 interventions
  • Help pupils overcome emotional and behavioural barriers to learning
  • Follow established systems while using initiative to support pupil progress

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold relevant qualifications and strong literacy/numeracy skills
  • Have experience as a Learning Support Assistant (or similar role)
  • Be flexible, proactive, and committed to inclusive early years education
  • Understand early childhood development and emotional needs
  • Be calm, resilient, and approach each day with a positive mindset
  • Have high aspirations for pupils and themselves
