Are you an experienced Early Years practitioner with a passion for making a real difference in a child’s life? We’re working in partnership with a welcoming and well-regarded mainstream primary school in Poole, who are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil starting in September with speech and language difficulties.
This is a full-time position and offers the opportunity to become permanent for the right person.
About the Role:
You’ll be working closely with a pupil in the EYFS setting, providing tailored support to help them access the curriculum and thrive both socially and academically. You’ll work alongside the class teacher and external professionals to implement personalised strategies that support communication and language development.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 support within the classroom environment
Adapt learning activities to meet the individual needs of the pupil
Use strategies to support speech, language and communication development
Build a strong, nurturing relationship that supports confidence and independence
Work closely with the SENCo, class teacher, and external specialists
Requirements:
️ Proven experience working within an EYFS setting
️ Good understanding of the EYFS curriculum and early childhood development
️ Experience supporting children with speech and language difficulties is highly desirable
️ Patience, creativity, and a positive, child-centred approach
️ A genuine commitment to making a difference in a child's educational journey
