Job summary

The Department for Education is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support teachers in delivering tailored learning activities and providing essential academic and welfare support to individuals and small groups.

You will assist with SEND and EAL students, help develop individual plans like One Page Profiles and EHCPs, and contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment in line with safeguarding requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in school or with children and young people; strong communication and flexibility.
• Proficient ICT skills; ability to protect confidential information.
• Willingness to undertake training to support students, including care plans when needed.

Responsibilities

• Support planned learning activities and monitor student progress.
• Assist with SEND/EAL student plans such as One Page Profiles and EHCPs.
• Support student wellbeing, supervise on visits, and invigilate exams.
