School website: www.ormskirk-ce.lancs.sch.uk Summary The Governors at Ormskirk Church of England Primary School are seeking to employ an experienced Early Years Practitioner to initially work in our school which has a nursery. The first year will almost certainly be in our nursery.
We pride ourselves on the family feel of our nursery and the nurturing care we provide to our children. Therefore, we are looking for someone who shares that ethos and can build strong, positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
Our ideal candidate will be passionate about Early Years education and committed to providing high-quality, playful teaching experiences for all our children both indoors and outside; never missing a learning opportunity. They will have strong communication skills and be able to model language effectively to our children.
Our successful applicant will be creative, proactive and highly-motivated, happy to get stuck in to a busy nursery environment. We would like someone who has a positive, professional attitude; whilst also making learning fun.
The role will include contributing to the planning and preparing of activities, as well as being a key person to a group of children which will include observation and assessment.
The standard hours will be 32.5 hours per week, Monday Friday 8:30am to 3:30pm. However, the successful applicant will be required to do some After School Clubs for the Nursery children until 6pm. Additional hours will be available during school holidays to work in our Holiday Club.

- Minimum Level 2 Full and Relevant Early Years qualification (or equivalent but must be Early Years specific)
- GCSE Maths and English, grade C / 4 and above or equivalent.
Desirable Qualifications
- Paediatric First Aid certificate
- Food Hygiene Certificate
Essential Experience
- Experience of working with children in an Early Years setting
- Secure knowledge of the Early Years Framework
- Experience of using either Development Matters or Birth to Five Matters to plan activities and assess childrens development.
