Location: Newcastle

Contract: Full Time/Part Time

Start: September term of 2024

About the Role:

GSL Education Newcastle is currently recruiting a Teaching Assistant (EAL) to work in a progressive and inclusive primary school . We are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic, and dedicated teaching assistant who will support students with English as an Additional Language (EAL) to help them achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Support students with English as an Additional Language in developing their language skills.
  • Assist the classroom teacher in planning and delivering lessons that cater to the needs of EAL students.
  • Work with small groups and individual students to provide targeted support.
  • Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and track the progress of EAL students, providing feedback to the classroom teacher.
  • Encourage student participation and engagement in all classroom activities.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, preferably with EAL students.
  • A passion for education and supporting young learners.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A patient and nurturing approach to supporting students with additional needs.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
