Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants to work full-time across welcoming primary schools in Durham.

As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll provide targeted 1:1 and small-group support to help children build confidence, develop independence and get the most from their education, while collaborating closely with teachers and staff in a safeguarding-conscious environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred.
  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Education or related subject preferred.
  • Caring, patient, positive approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with learning, development and wellbeing.
  • Deliver 1:1 and small-group support.
  • Encourage confidence, independence and positive behaviour.
  • Help pupils develop communication and social skills.
  • Work with teachers and school staff.

Full-Time Teaching Assistant - Durham

Milk Education is recruiting enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants to work full-time across welcoming primary schools in Durham.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to build strong relationships with pupils, support their learning and become a valued and consistent member of a school team.

As a Teaching Assistant, you'll provide targeted support through 1:1 and small-group work, helping children build confidence, develop independence and get the most from their education.

Your Role
  • Support pupils with their learning, development and wellbeing
  • Deliver effective 1:1 and small-group support
  • Encourage positive behaviour, confidence and independence
  • Help pupils develop communication and social skills
  • Work closely with teachers and other school staff
  • Create a positive, inclusive and engaging classroom environment
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and maintain confidentiality
What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience working with children or within an educational setting is desirable
  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Education or a related subject is preferred
  • A caring, patient and positive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Enthusiasm for helping children succeed
  • The ability to build positive relationships and remain calm and supportive
