Job Title: Teaching Assistant - BS3 , Bristol

Days/Hours: Monday to Friday School hours, 32.5 hours per week

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and hardworking Teaching Assistant to join an amazing school team in BS3, Bristol. If you are passionate about supporting students, including those with SEND, and enabling them to access a full range of opportunities at school, we would love to hear from you.

Job Description:
Under the direction of the SENDCo/Inclusion Leaders, the Teaching Assistant will:

  • Work under the supervision of a teacher to plan, deliver, and evaluate learning activities for small groups or individual students, providing feedback on student engagement and achievement.
  • Oversee and monitor students' responses to learning activities and maintain accurate records of student progress.
  • Provide detailed, accurate, and objective feedback to teachers and parents/carers on student progress and achievement.
  • Support the social and emotional development of students, enabling them to fully participate in education and improve outcomes.
  • Supervise the class during the short-term irregular absence of the class teacher and deliver pre-prepared activities

The successful applicant will have:

  • A minimum of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (including GCSEs in Maths and English Grade C or equivalent).
  • An understanding of and a vision for the care and education of children aged 4-11, particularly those with a range of Special Educational Needs.
  • The skills to engage all children in their learning.
  • The ability to work as part of a team under direction, as well as use their initiative when required.
