Overview
We are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support students and teachers across primary and secondary schools in Birmingham. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting learning, assisting with classroom management, and helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all pupils.
Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher with the delivery of lessons and learning activities.
- Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils, including those with additional needs.
- Assist with classroom behaviour management and promote a positive learning atmosphere.
- Help prepare and organise classroom resources and learning materials.
- Ensure safeguarding and welfare policies are followed at all times.
- Contribute to pupils' social, emotional, and educational development.
Requirements
- All applicants must meet the compliance requirements to work in UK schools, including:
- Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- Right to Work in the UK - valid passport, visa, or other documentation.
- Two professional references covering the last 2 years (at least one from an education setting).
- Proof of Address (within the last 3 months).
- Overseas Police Check (if you have lived/worked outside the UK for more than 6 months in the last 5 years).
- Child Safeguarding Training (must be in date - training can be provided if required).
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or in another classroom support role.
- A positive, proactive attitude and strong communication skills.
