Job summary

The Potteries Educational Trust is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join Biddulph High School, a GOOD Ofsted rated school with a welcoming, hard-working staff. The role offers opportunity to contribute to inclusive teaching and provide targeted support under the guidance of the SENDCo.

You will work with students to overcome barriers to learning, support assessment, and help create a stimulating learning environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting students with additional needs in a school setting.
  • Ability to provide pastoral support and supervise students.
  • Willingness to work under the SENDCo and cooperate with a team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support in addressing the needs of students who need particular help to overcome barriers to learning.
  • Provide pastoral support to students within the school environment.
  • Receive and supervise students.
  • Participate in the comprehensive assessment of students to determine those in need of particular help.
  • Support provision for students with additional needs.
  • Provide feedback to students and teachers in relation to progress, achievement, behaviour and attendance etc.
  • Inspiring students with enthusiasm for learning.
  • Creating a stimulating and nurturing learning environment.
  • Working effectively and making a significant contribution to our school.
