**Job Title: Teaching Assistant - Behaviour Support** **Location: Manchester, Greater Manchester** **Salary: Up to £104 a Day** **Contract Type: Full-Time** **Start Date: September 2025** **About Us:** The school is a mainstream secondary school, located in the heart of Manchester, committed to providing an inclusive and supportive learning environment to all students. **Job Description:** We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Teaching Assistant with a focus on Behaviour Support to join our committed team. This pivotal role involves working on a one-to-one basis with students who have been identified as having autism, ADHD or other behavioural challenges, with the ultimate goal of preventing the risk of exclusion and promoting positive behaviour. **Key Responsibilities:** * Provide one-to-one support to students with behavioural needs, such as autism and ADHD, helping them to engage in the curriculum and school life. * Develop trusting relationships with students, acting as a positive role model and mentor. * Collaborate with teachers and the SENCO to implement behavioural support plans. * Utilise de-escalation strategies to manage challenging behaviours in a calm and effective manner. * Monitor and report on the progress of students, offering feedback and suggesting adjustments to support plans. * Assist with the creation of a safe and inclusive classroom environment that accommodates the diverse needs of students. * Encourage student independence, self-confidence and resilience through positive reinforcement. * Provide a stable and consistent presence for students at risk of exclusion, aiming to enhance their educational experience and outcomes. **What We Offer:** * A rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of young people. * Access to free courses and qualifications to further develop your professional skills. * A strong, supportive community of staff who are committed to the well-being and success of all students. * A vibrant work environment that values collaboration, patience and innovative approaches to education. **The Ideal Candidate:** * Has experience working as a Teaching Assistant or similar role within a secondary education setting. * Exhibits exceptional patience, resilience and the ability to manage challenging behaviours constructively. * Holds a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or is willing to work towards one. * Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills. * Is confident in collaborating with teaching staff and contributing to the overall support strategy for students. * Has a proactive approach and a commitment to continuous personal and professional development.
