TeacherActive is proud to be working with a unique and supportive independent SEMH school in the NG13 area. This setting is dedicated to providing a safe, therapeutic, and personalised education for students aged 7–18 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

We are currently looking for a resilient and compassionate SEMH Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join the team on a temporary-to-permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to become a long-term part of a school that values emotional well-being just as much as academic success.

The Role:

Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, both 1:1 and in small groups

Foster a calm, consistent, and nurturing learning environment

Support behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies

Collaborate closely with teachers, SENCOs, and therapeutic staff

Help pupils achieve academic and personal development goals outlined in EHCPs

Temp-to-perm contract – a permanent role may be offered following a successful period

We’re Looking for Someone Who:

Has experience working with children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs

Remains calm, patient, and empathetic in challenging situations

Communicates effectively and works well within a team

Understands safeguarding and child protection protocols

Ideally has experience in a school, PRU, or alternative provision (preferred but not essential)
