Job description
Overview

The First Federation Trust, a Multi Academy Trust of 29 primary schools, is seeking to recruit a Teaching Assistant for Portesham CE Primary School. Portesham Primary School is set in the village of Portesham, close to the towns of Dorchester and Weymouth, with good transport links across both Dorset and Devon. The school provides a warm and nurturing learning environment with a family atmosphere which has excellent relationships with parents/carers and the local community. This role is for 20 hours per week, term time only until 31 August 2026. Monday to Friday 9am to 1pm.

Requirements

We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and highly motivated individual with experience of phonics to work alongside the class teacher across all areas of the curriculum.

Responsibilities
  • to deliver targeted interventions
  • to promote inclusion through the development of social skills, language and emotional well-being
  • to work under the direction of the class teacher and liaise with other professionals both within and outside the school

You will be expected to show a high degree of initiative and be able to react to given situations with integrity and compassion
