Job summary

Hawes Down Primary School in London is seeking a high-calibre teaching assistant to join one of our ARP classes. The role is 19.5 hours per week, term-time (38 weeks per year).

Knowledge and experience of working with children with severe and complex needs is a requirement. A paediatric First Aid qualification and knowledge of Makaton are advantageous, and training can be offered.

Job description

BR5 point 13 £25,703 FTE (actual salary £11,620 plus SEN allowance of £675)

19.5 hours per week (Wed, Thurs, Fri)

38 weeks per year, term time

We require a high calibre and experienced teaching assistant to work in one of our Additionally Resourced Provision classes. Knowledge and experience of working with children with severe and complex needs is a requirement of this post. A paediatric First Aid qualification would be advantageous, as would knowledge of Makaton, however, training can be offered.

The successful applicant will have:

Experience of working with children with sensory and complex needs (desirable)

A passion for education and commitment to work alongside the teachers to provide a high quality individualised learning environment
