Qualifications

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths required.
  • Must complete an Enhanced DBS check.
  • Not essential but previous experience with children is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Support classroom activities and supervise children.
  • Assist pupils with their learning and development.
  • Provide additional help to children who need it most.
  • Help plan and prepare sessions.

Job description

Are you passionate about working with children and making a difference in the classroom Join Oasis Academy Nunsthorpe as a Teaching Assistant Apprentice and gain handson experience while working towards a nationally recognised Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.

Please note: If you have already achieved a level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification Oasis are happy to consider you for the level 5 Higher Level Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship

Working week

Monday to Friday Term time only

08:30 3:30 Monday Tuesday Thursday and Friday

08:30 4:30 Wednesday (CPD afternoon)

Wage

8.55 per hour

Wage rises to National Minimum Wage after 12 months if over 19

Qualification

Teaching Assistant Level 3

Duration 16 Months

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supporting classroom activities and supervising children
  • Assisting pupils with their learning and development
  • Providing additional help to children who need it most
  • Learning classroom behaviour strategies and teaching techniques
  • Helping to plan and prepare sessions
  • Encouraging pupil independence inclusion and engagement in learning
  • Supporting childrens emotional social and physical wellbeing

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working with children (not essential)
