Leigh Academy Cherry Orchard is inviting applications for a Teaching Assistant (Apprentice) to join our EYFS classes in Ebbsfleet Garden City. This apprenticeship runs for 18 months with 20% training, starting ASAP. The role supports teachers to deliver high-quality learning with enthusiasm, professionalism and a commitment to safeguarding.

Annual wage is £14,968.87 (£17,171 full-time equivalent). Working weeks are Monday to Friday, Term Time plus 1 inset week.

Leigh Academy Cherry Orchard has a fantastic opportunity to appoint a Teaching Assistant (Apprentice) to join and support our EYFS classes in our highly successful academy that opened in 2017. This role is ideal for those who genuinely have a passion for helping children within a primary setting. Please note, this role is based within our preschool.

What does the role involve? The main aim of this role is to support our teachers to deliver academic excellence, day in, day out, with professionalism and enthusiasm.

Each and every member of staff, regardless of their position or seniority, is expected to participate in the overall running of the school and to act as a positive role model for our students. In and out of the classroom you will encourage and promote positive behaviour and effectively manage any situation that threatens to impact on the progress of other students.

Apprenticeship Summary

Annual wage: Actual salary £14,968.87 per annum ( £17,171 full-time equivalent)

Working weeks: Monday - Friday, Term Time + 1 week inset

Total hours per week: 37.5 (including the 20% training element of the Apprenticeship) - 8:30am - 4:30pm

Apprenticeship duration: 18 months + EPA (end point assessment)

Anticipated start date: As soon as possible

Apprenticeship level: Level 3

Apprenticeship standard: Early Years Educator

Essential entry qualifications: GCSEs A* - C, Maths and English (desirable)

Future prospects: This apprenticeship could be the start of a very promising career within the wider business. We endeavour to offer further employment following successful performance and completion of the Level 3 course with future opportunities to extend your training with a higher level apprenticeship programme. Leigh Academy Cherry Orchard opened in September 2017, it has since grown to full capacity with children up to Year 6 as of September 2021. The academy is located in Ebbsfleet Garden City and features new facilities, including a nursery and a center for children with speech, communication, and language needs.

The academy's core mission is to inspire children, deliver an inclusive education, create a safe and happy environment, and ensure all students feel valued. It focuses on challenging learning experiences to build resilient students and maintains a consistent approach to behavior, safeguarding, and pastoral support.
