Teaching Assistant - Behaviour Support (Alternative Provision)
Location: Sherwood, Nottingham (NG5)
Pay: 95 - 105 per day (PAYE)
Contract: Full-time, long-term to permanent (Term-time only)
Start Date: September 2025

Long Term Futures is seeking a resilient and proactive Teaching Assistant to support students at a specialist Alternative Provision in Sherwood (NG5). The setting caters to young people in Key Stages 3 and 4 who face behavioural, emotional and social challenges and require a more personalised, structured approach to learning.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in behaviour support or youth mentoring who wants to make a tangible difference outside of a mainstream classroom.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Working 1:1 with students to provide tailored classroom and behavioural support
  • Supporting behaviour management strategies set by senior staff and pastoral leads
  • Helping students develop social and emotional regulation strategies
  • Building trusted relationships that support long-term behavioural and academic growth
  • Supporting the implementation and monitoring of behaviour intervention plans
  • Being a positive, consistent role model throughout the school day

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviour, SEN, or SEMH
  • A calm, confident, and empathetic approach to behaviour support
  • Previous experience in a school, PRU, youth work, or similar setting (desirable)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A proactive, patient attitude and the ability to work well under pressure
