Job summary

Trinity High Academy in Manchester seeks a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students’ learning, wellbeing and inclusion, with a focus on those with SEND. You will deliver targeted interventions, monitor progress and assist with safeguarding, behaviour support and admin tasks.

The role requires safeguarding awareness or willingness to train, and numeracy/literacy at least RQF Level 2. NVQ L2 TA or equivalent is welcome.

Qualifications

  • Safeguarding knowledge or willingness to obtain training.
  • Numeracy and literacy at least equivalent to RQF Level 2.
  • Experience with SEND students is desirable.
  • Experience with EHCPs and school processes is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Provide learning, wellbeing and inclusion support for students, including targeted interventions.
  • Support classroom management, safeguarding and behaviour support.
  • Assist with administrative tasks and promote student independence.

Salary: £22,149 per annum

We are looking for:
  • Experience and understanding of safeguarding and child protection issues, or be willing to undertake training in these areas;
  • Numeracy and literacy skills at least equivalent to RQF Level 2
  • Qualified to NVQ L2 TA or equivalent qualifications or experience; or willingness to obtain one;
  • Ideally have the following relevant knowledge and/or experience:
  • Significant classroom experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar role;
  • Experience of working with students who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs;
  • Ability to build positive and professional relationships with students and their parent(s)/carer(s);
  • Experience and knowledge of working with and contributing to the assessment, planning, production and review process of EHCPs;
  • High level administrative skills and an excellent eye for detail;
  • Willingness to drive mini bus and access to own transport;
  • Be professional, flexible and innovative, with experience of undertaking a wide variety of duties and an ability to deal skillfully with unanticipated situations;
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work well within a team, yet able to demonstrate an ability to work unsupervised utilising their own initiative;Well organised with an adaptable and positive approach to all aspects of the workload;
  • Supportive of the school's excellent staff attendance and punctuality record, which in turn supports student attainment.
  • Training will be provided on safeguarding and school specific IT applications.
