A primary school in the BS4 area of Bristol is looking for a Teaching Assistant to work with a child on a 1:1 basis in a Year 1 class.

This school is a 2-form entry school, part of a large Bristol Trust that supports children from diverse backgrounds, providing an inclusive learning environment and building strong community relationships.

The Role

The successful candidate will support a child with SEMH needs on a 1:1 basis within a Year 1 class.

You will work closely with the class teacher to develop activities that support the child's needs both inside and outside the classroom.

You will be expected to:

  • Collaborate with the class teacher to monitor and communicate the child's progress.
  • Maintain high expectations for the child's success.
  • Create a stimulating and supportive environment.
  • Support and manage the child's needs.
  • Assess and communicate the child's development and successes.
