Teaching Personnelis seeking a compassionate and dedicatedTeaching Assistantto join a specialist school inNew Maldensupporting students aged16+ with severe learning difficulties. This rewarding role requires patience, empathy, and a commitment to helping learners achieve their full potential in a supportive environment.
Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students with severe learning difficulties.
Assist with personal care, including toileting, feeding, and mobility support, as required.
Support the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
Help students develop communication, life skills, and independence.
Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the teaching team.
Valid Child & Adult DBS(or willingness to apply for one through Teaching Personnel).
Experience working with individuals withsevere learning difficulties(preferred but not essential – training provided for the right candidate).
Willingness to assist withpersonal care(training provided).
A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students.
Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ in Supporting Teaching & Learning).
Experience inspecial educational needs (SEN)settings.
Knowledge ofPECS, Makaton, or Team Teach(advantageous but not essential).
Ongoing training and professional developmentopportunities.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
