Teaching Personnelis seeking a compassionate and dedicatedTeaching Assistantto join a specialist school inNew Maldensupporting students aged16+ with severe learning difficulties. This rewarding role requires patience, empathy, and a commitment to helping learners achieve their full potential in a supportive environment.

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students with severe learning difficulties.

  • Assist with personal care, including toileting, feeding, and mobility support, as required.

  • Support the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities.

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.

  • Help students develop communication, life skills, and independence.

  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the teaching team.

  • Valid Child & Adult DBS(or willingness to apply for one through Teaching Personnel).

  • Experience working with individuals withsevere learning difficulties(preferred but not essential – training provided for the right candidate).

  • Willingness to assist withpersonal care(training provided).

  • A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students.

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ in Supporting Teaching & Learning).

  • Experience inspecial educational needs (SEN)settings.

  • Knowledge ofPECS, Makaton, or Team Teach(advantageous but not essential).

  • Ongoing training and professional developmentopportunities.
